Meet Dr. Holton
Dr. Holton is a native of Cherokee, Iowa. While attending Cherokee public schools, he excelled in numerous sports including track and cross country, winning the Iowa State Cross Country championship two years in a row. Dr. Holton then attended Iowa State University with a full scholarship, participating in track and cross country at the Division 1 level. He then received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Iowa. He continued his studies at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, earning his DDS degree in 1986. Dr. Holton completed a hospital based general practice dentistry residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and was in private general dental practice in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

Pursuing advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Dr. Holton completed his residency in 1992. There he, also, earned his Master of Science degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has practiced with Oral Surgery Associates, PC since returning to northwest Iowa.

Dr. Holton is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is currently the president of the Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is past president of the Sioux City Dental Society. He is, also, a member of the American Dental Association, the Iowa Dental Association, the Northwest Iowa District Dental Society, the Iowa Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Sioux City Dental Society; and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Holton actively practices the full scope of his specialty.

Dr. Holton has been married to his wife, Lora, since 1980. Their two daughters attended Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools in Sioux City. His oldest daughter attends the University of Iowa and his youngest daughter plans to do the same. When not at work Dr. Holton enjoys following the Heelan Crusaders and the Iowa Hawkeyes as well as planning the next trip to Iowa City.
